What is the hygiene department?
The hygiene department provides all the preventive care of the patients of our clinic. During the routine check up session, the hygienist will clean the teeth (remove any tartar built up or stains from the teeth) and explain to the child and the parent the important role of home care. He will also teach both child and parent how to brush and floss the teeth. An educational DVD also is available. Diet assessment and advice on poor diet habits or any other bad oral habit will also be discussed. Fluoride treatment will be provided every 4 - 6 months according to the patient's dental needs. Orthodontic patients under 16 years old can also be seen by the hygienist to maintain good oral hygiene control and to provide fluoridation which is even more necessary during orthodontic treatment.
